Gai Waterhouse
Mrs Gai Waterhouse the daughter of Randwick racehorse trainer Mr. T.J. Smith has made a name for herself in the racing industry. She is the trainer of the 2010 BMW Caulfield Cup winner Descarado and Driefontein the Magic Million 2 year old Classic winner. Mrs Waterhouse is known to be a specialist when it comes to training 2 years old gallopers. She got her Australian Jockey Club liscence back in 1992 but made difficult becuase her husband Mr Robert Waterhouse involvement in the Fine Cotton scandal. Her father Mr. T.J. Smith passed on to her the Tulloch Lodge when he became ill. She has recieved awards like an Australian Sports Medal for outstanding contribution for thoroughbred racing and inducted into the Australian Racing's Hall of Fame and also an Australian Living Treasure nominated by the National Trust of Australia. Successful gallopers trained by Mrs Gai Waterhouse are Dance Hero, Sebring, Grand Armee, Desert War, Raceway and No Looking Back.
