The 5 year old horse Wazn ($4.20) won the 2400m Australia Day Cup last Thursday January 26, 2012. The Race was a 3 years old and upward Quality race. The Patinas Farm Blue Diamond Preview (C&G) (1000m) Listed race for 2 years old colt and geldings was won by Matt Laurie trained horse The Travelling Man ($5.70) . This 2 year old colt was drawn in barrier 6 and carried 55 Kg in weight. This galloper was ridden by Ben Melham and can win from a 1000m and has a record of 1 win from its first 2 and only start.

Runners up were No Smoken ($4.60) 2nd, Timely Truce ($2.50) 3rd and Cambiaso 4th.

For the Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) for the 2 year old filly’s race was won by the first starter horse Malasun ($11.40). Trained by Mick Price and ridden by Damien Oliver Malasun was drawn in barrier 5 and carried 55Kg in weight.

Runners Up were Members Joy ($2.70) 2nd, Sabie ($2.50) 3rd and Sweet Little Lies 4th.

Instinction ($19.80) won the 1200m Zedative Stakes in Caulfield race 5. This race was a listed race for three year old colts and geldings. This galloper was drawn in barrier 2 and carried 57Kg in weight. Instinction has 3 wins and a place from its 7 starts. Instiction also won the 1400m Hilton stakes in Flemington, November last year.

Runners up were Specter ($3.90) 2nd, Petman ($2.70) and Adamantium 4th

Top weight Southern Speed ($8.50) won the John Dillon Stakes (1400m). Trained by Leon Macdonald Southern Speed also won the 2400m Caulfield Cup October last year. This galloper now has a minimum win distance of 1050m and a maximum win distance of 2400m, thus giving him a prizemoney of $2,111,850.

Mooney Valley

Thousands of racing fans witness how Black Caviar ($1.05) makes it 17 straight wins at Moonee Valley last Friday as she won the 1200m Australia Stakes. The Champion Sprinter won 4 1/4L against her opponent. It’s an easy win for the Superstar sprinter as she remained focus and relax after she jumped evenly from the inside. She got the lead form the home turn against the leader Zedi Knight and stormed home to the finish. Black Caviars time was 1 min 9.44 sec and was only 0.15 sec difference from Miss Andretti’s course record.

Runners up were Zedi Knight ($2.40), Doubtful Jack 3rd and Rock Classic 4th.
