Caulfield

Caulfield track is rated a dead 4 with the rail out by 9m the entire circuit and the weather is partly cloudy. Racing fun will be delighted to see some great action on Saturday’s event as Caulfield will have 4 group races on Saturday.

First in line is the Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude - 1400m in race 6. The race is for 3 year old fillies in set weight with penalties group 3 races. The winner of this race will get a chance to take out $90,000 plus $750 trophy. There will be 15 acceptances for Saturdays race, Robert Smerdon entered two of his trained horse, Members Joy and Bloomingdale Miss while Peter Snowden Dazzler will start in barrier 10.

All eyes are in this race the group 1 Hyland Underwood Stakes - 1800m. This race is a weight for age race for 3 years old and upwards and the winner will receive $240,000 and trophy of $2000. Premier trainer Peter Moody entered Manighar while Leon McDonald and Andrew Gluyas are full hope that Southern Speed can make it. Drunken Sailor and Mawingo are also two of the acceptances for the stake.

After being lost with her first start after her long break Mosheen will take his revenge and try to take out the Sportingbet Sprint – 1200m race. This race is open for 4 years old and upwards in set weights with penalties. Robert Smerdon trained horse will start in barrier 4 and will be ridden by Nicholas Hall. The race will have 18 acceptances including emergencies.

Randwick

Randwick first race is a group 3 race, the Co-Wyn Building Gloaming Stakes. The race has 7 acceptances, including It’s a Dundeel trained by Murray P Baker. This race is for 3 year old in set weight with penalties.

Race 4 the Coolmore Tea Rose Stakes group 2 races with 9 acceptances and open for 3 years old fillies in set weight with penalties. Dear Demi, Flying Snitzel, Jade Marauder and Meidung are among the acceptances for the race.

Race 5 Bill Ritchie Handicap group 3 race, this race is for 3years old and upwards. There are 10 acceptances in this race; Gai Waterhouse has Wild and Proud with Herculian Prince for this race while Chris Waller has entered Said Com.

Group 1 George Main Stakes – 1600m in race 6 will have 11 acceptances. All Too Hard is one of the acceptances in the weight for age for 3 years old and upwards race and he will start in barrier 5 and will be ridden by Chris Munce.

Bacardi Hill Stakes in race 7 will have 11 acceptances, this race is for 3 years old and upwards group 2 races. Imported stayer Stout Hearted is one of the acceptances in this race; Lights of Heaven and Permit are also in this race.

Race 8 Bowermans Furniture – The Shorts – 1200m is also a group 2 race. The race has 17 acceptances including Manawanui, Rain Affair and Nobby Snip. So expect a great and thrilling race because of these gallopers.
