Mosheen the 3 year old filly trained by Caulfield based trainer Mr. Robert Smerdon will try to take out the The Vanity 1410m race and the main contender in this race. She won the 1200m Manfred Stakes at Caulfield. This galloper has 4 wins and 4 placings from 10 starts to date and can ran from 1000m to 2500m. She will be ridden by Danny Nikolic and will start in barrier 8.

Race 6 $750,000 Coolmore Lightning Stakes (1000m) standard weight for age Group 1 race and will have a field limit of 16 plus 4 emergencies.

Premier trainer Peter Moody's trained horse and Champion mare Black Caviar will race and try to take out the Lightning Stakes and make her 19th to 19th win at Flemington. She just recently won the C.F. Orr Stakes 1400m distance her first attempt over 1400m distance but on Saturday Lightning Stakes the distance will be 1000m. Seeing this race as a test to Black Caviar's ability to adjust in distance. But there's no doubt that she will win because she can ran from 1000m to 1400m and win. Regularly been ridden by Luke Nolen, Black Caviar will start in barrier 5.

The biggest danger for the champion mare is Hay List. Hay List who has not raced since May then got an infection who almost took his life in the spring is considered as Black Caviar's rival. Hay List will test the champ and might end the sequence of her winning. Hay List has 14 wins 4 placing from his 20 starts to date and can run from 1000m to 1400m and win. He will start in barrier 7 and will be ridden by Glyn Schofield.

Manawanui the 3 year old colt trained by Warwick Farm trainer Ron Leemon is the challenger in this race. This galloper won the 2050m Vase at Moonee Valley October last year.
