Mosheen, the main contender for the Shadwell Stud Australasia Stakes (1200m). The race will have a field limit of 16 plus 4 emergencies for the three years old in set weights plus penalties. Her last start was in Flemington were she won the 2500m Crown Oaks Stakes November last year thus giving her the prizemoney of $1,546,200.

At the 2000m Reaan Plate a galloper really stands out, Sea Galleon the Colin Alderson trained horse. Sea Galleon has 5 wins and 4 placings from its 20 starts to date. He won the Xmas Cup (2400m) in Rosehill December last year. This Stayer can run from 1314m to 2400m and win. He will be ridden by Ben Melham and will start in barrier 2. Western Jewel will be the main contender in Ascot for the 1600m Open Handicap race. The 5 year old mare trained by Grant Williams won the Perth Cup 2400m against the top favourite God Has Spoken which made her jockey Ms Kyra Yuill the first female to take out the Perth Cup. Western Jewel has a minimum win distance of 1600m and a maximum win distance of 2400m. Ridden Rayce Nielsen this Saturday Western Jewel will start in barrier 1 carrying 60Kg in weight.

Danger in this race is Kerrific the 5 year old gelding trained by Bunbury trainer Bruce Watkins. This galloper has 9 wins and 4 placing from its 20 starts to date. He won 2 races in Ascot, a 1200m race and a 1400m race. Kerrific will start in barrier 9 carrying 57Kg in weight and will be ridden by Ms Kyra Yuill, Western Jewels jockey when she won the Perth Cup last year.

Warwick Farm

Karuta Queen trained by Neville Layt will race in Warwick Farm (1000m). This is a three years old and upwards race with a field limit of 13 and 4 emergencies. Karuta Queen will be ridden by jockey Tommy Berry and will start in barrier 3 and will carry 56.5 kg. She won the Heritage Stakes in rosehill against Al's Magic and also won the Red Anchor Stakes in Moonee Valley against Miss Stellabelle. Her last start was in Flemington for the Schweppes Stakes and favourite in the betting but only ran 2nd and lost against African Pulse. Karuta Queen has a big chance of winning these race and we see lots of punters backing these horse.
