Preview for the feature races on saturday 07/January/2012

Caulfield

The feature race in Caulfield on Saturday is the $100,000 Robert Taranto Doveton Stakes (1200m), a listed race with a field limit of 16.

First Command is the galloper that stands out in this race. Trained by Anthony Freedman from Mornington First Command had 9 wins and 5 placings from its 22 starts. Its last start was in Flemington the Gilgai Stakes (1200m) where he gained 6 place but raced in a very good time. To be ridden by J. Mott this 6 year old colt can run from 1000m to 1200m. This galloper is certainly one of the horses to watch for in this race.


Gold Coast

There are 2 feature races in Gold Coast this saturday.
The First is in race 6 the Gold Coast City Council Three Year Old Handicap (1200m) with a field limit of 16.

Donald Baker trained horse Mr. Favulous and ridden by Jay Ford, this 3 year old colt has 4 wins and 7 placings from its 15 start. Its last start was in Doomben 1020m 85 class were it gained 3rd but in very fast time. It also raced in City meetings and has a prizemoney of $278,700. The dangers that i can see in this race is Leealan.

Leealan is a 3 year old gelding trained by Mr. John Morrisey from Gold Coast and to be ridden by Glen Colless. Leealan has 4 wins and 4 placings from its 11 starts to date. Its 2nd last start was in Eagle Farm 3 year old Handicap race were it came 3rd and has a minimum distance win of 900m and a maximum distance win of 1100m.

The 2nd feature race in Gold Coast is the Attwood Marshall Lawyers Bat Out Of Hell Handicap (900m). Seek and Find is the main contender in this race. Trained by Kelso Wood and to be ridden by jockey Jayson Taylor this galloper has been racing in the city and consistently winning. It has 8 wins and 5 placings from its 19 starts so far and its last 2 starts were both in Eagle farm a 1000m handicap race and won each. This galloper can race from a 1000m to 1200m.

The biggest danger to Seek and Find's success is the Bruce W Hill trained horse Leapfrog, ridden by jockey Jay Ford this 6 year old gelding has 7 wins and 11 placings from its 39 starts. Its minimum distance win is 1000m and maximum distance win of 1200m it has raced on higher classes and has a consistent fast time. Punters need to keep an eye for this horse.
